Inside the facility, people are busily running about finishing the last preparations before the final go. The last real Mech is placed into position, alongside the other fully geared up real Mechs in the great hangar bay. Further in the back are the prop Mecha's which add more details to the whole picture. We go down the hallway, here and there actors stand around reciting their lines, nervously smoking a cigarette or sipping from their microwaved heated tea. Maintenance crews painting and refurbishing the rooms, blocking off or hiding entranceways and making sure that the cameras are well enough hidden.
Entering the main chamber room, we see the outside light gleam onto the tubes with their green liquid content, in which human-shaped outlines can be made out. Hired scientists check once again the vitals of the sleeping individuals and pass the information on to the multiple assistants belonging to the main leader of the project.
In his chair, filling it out with his perfect cheeks, the director / producer / studio manager in one person waits in anticipation for the last-minute arrangements to be completed. After years of planning, writing and building all the stages, the time has finally come to start filming the most expensive, biggest, secretive and longest movie which ever existed. Alright, the crew go into hiding!
And.......3....2....1....Action!
The TTRPG show ZERO.BLUE.ORION was a show run by TABLESTORY. The system being used for this show is Lancer RPG. At this point, Zero.Blue.Orion is already finished being aired live, but YouTube VODs, Twitch VODs and Podcasts are available.
Leaving aside the jesting write-up above, Zero.Blue.Orion is, as Tablestory describes it, a “Comedic Anime-style Mecha” show. Again, Tablestory brought together a bunch of fine cast members which synergize perfectly together. The cast members, followed by the GM, bounce around the galaxy trying to find answers to their questions. Mech fights in deep space and decisions that either save or destroy lives, all of which only can be faced with the player characters trusting each other and forming a strong bond. Powerful Mechs, yet the pilots must also take courage for the tasks ahead of them for which a Mech is powerless against.
For Your Information:
At the beginning of the show the players are making themselves more familiar with the TTRPG system, which makes it a little crunchy and slow. BUT, it is 100% worth the watch! I do not want to spoiler anything, just dive in and watch the mayhem unfold.
